The 23rd annual Country Music Jamboree runs June 13-15 at the Harney County Fairgrounds with stage shows, workshops, dancing, and food.
 
Artists/Painters meet each Thursday at 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Harney County Senior Center. Take along projects of all media and work in a good atmoshpere. Mary Lou will be there for projects if needed.
 
A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.
 
Kiwanis Club of Burns-Hines meets for a no-host luncheon each Thursday at Bella Java, 314 N. Broadway Ave. in Burns, at noon.
 
Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets each Thursday at Hines City Hall, 101 E. Barnes, at noon. Call 541-573-2896.
 
Alcoholics Anonymous holds an open, big book and discussion meeting each Thursday from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Church of the Living Water.

A recovery group, “Celebrate Recovery,” meets each Friday at the Harney County Church of The Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave. in Hines. Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m. The main meeting is held at 6 p.m., small group sessions are at 7 p.m. and “Cross Talk Cafe” begins at 8 p.m. For more information, call 541-573-7100.

The annual Harney County Health Fair/Trail of Hope  will be held on Saturday, June 15, at Burns High School. Fasting blood draw exams available at the fair from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. and all booths open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the BHS Cafeteria. Trail of Hope Fun 5K registration begins at 8:30 a.m. at the BHS track; runners begin at 9:30 a.m. and walkers at 10 a.m. All race proceeds benefit CAN Cancer, providing financial support to local cancer patients.

Join Harney District Hospital (HDH) for a free Childbirth Education class. Learn about prenatal care, the birth experience, breastfeeding and infant care. Class will be held on Saturday, June 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the HDH Board Annex. Contact HDH’s Toni Siegner, 541-573-8310 to register or for more information. Lunch from Grand Street Café is included.
 
The Harney County Radio Association meets every second Saturday of the month at 10 a.m. in the basement meeting room of the Harney County Courthouse. All amateur radio operators and interested parties are welcome.

Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic on Monday evenings throughout the month, June 10, 17 and 24. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist to assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. To take advantage of this free clinic, please call the Physical Therapy office at 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen.
 
A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.
 
The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community are welcome. 
 
Burns Fire Department meets each Monday at the Burns Fire Hall at 7 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 N. Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.

Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Center, 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the county as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding existing programs and recruitment efforts.

Burns Butte Sportmen’s Club will begin their summer twilight practice sessions on June 5 and will continue Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the month of September.  There will be people there to help beginners. All levels of experience are welcome.

High Desert Park and Recreation District board of directors meets the first Wednesday of each month in their office at Lincoln Junior High School, 550 N. Court, at 7 p.m.

Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. “D” St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

The 97th Harney County Pioneer Day celebration will be held Saturday, June 8, at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center. This year’s royalty are Queen Mother Marge McRae and President Robert Smyth.

The 18th annual Lions Fly-In Breakfast will be held from 7 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 8, at the Burns Airport. Breakfast includes eggs, pancakes, sausage, juice, milk or coffee. Call Fred Flippence for more information 541-589-1217.
