Saturday February 28

The Chamber Music Society Scholarship Audition Concert, for grades 6 to 12, will be held at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene. Admission is free and there will be refreshments provided after the concert. Please join us in enjoying good music and in supporting the talented youth of our community.

A fundraising All You Can Eat Soup Dinner, clam chowder and vegetable beef soup, with bread and dessert, will be served from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, at American Legion Post #63 at the corner of C and Alvord streets. A free community dinner, eat in or take out (no strings attached),will be served the first Sunday of each month from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pioneer Presbyterian Church, 417 W. Washington in Burns. Masonic Lodge meets the first Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 W. Taylor, at 7 p.m.

Harney Hospital Foundation meets the first Tuesday of each month in the Hospital Conference Room at 7 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 N. Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.

The Chamber Orchestra meets the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Burns High School Band Room, 1100 Oregon Avenue, from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Ken Peckham directing, September through November and January through March.

Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance Program (SHIBA) trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center, 17 S. Alder, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each Tuesday to help with Medicare insurance needs or medications you cannot afford.

Saturday February 21

Kiwanis Patriot’s Breakfast from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at the Harney County Community Center. Funds from the breakfast will be used to replace the fireworks trailer damaged last summer.

Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club will host their February Fun and Games trap shoot on Saturday, Feb. 21, at the trap range on Radar Hill. Practice at 9:30 a.m., with games to follow. All levels of shooters encouraged to participate. You only shoot with shooters of your own ability. Lunch will be available.

Waggin’ Tales is held the first and third Saturday of the month at Harney County Library from 1-3 p.m. Please call the library, 541-573-6670, for an appointment to read with a dog.
