The 12th annual Kaye Johnson Memorial Diamonds in a Glass, dinner and auction, will be held Saturday, April 25, at the Burns Elks Lodge. Doors open at 5:30pm. Tickets are available at the Kids Club, Gourmet & Gadgets, and the chamber of commerce.

Burns Butte Sportsmen Club will be hosting their annual Archery 3-D Spring Shoot on April 25-26 at the Burns Butte Shooting range. This will be a 40-target trail shoot, open to all levels and ages of shooters. A barbecue lunch will be available.  Trophies awarded for 1st-3rd places in each class. Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.

The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

A Grief Support Group is held the second and fourth Monday of each month by Harney County Hospice and Rev. Jean Hurst during the day as well as the evening. For more information, call Harney County Hospice, 541-573-8360.

The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday, except holidays, at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community and visitors are welcome. For more information call 541-573-4000.

A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from  10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.

Saturday April 18

Read & Romp will be held Saturday, April 18, from 1 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the lower level of the hospital facility. Please use the entrance near Grand Street Café. Join us for fun, learning-based activities for children themed around their favorite books… cool prizes and free books too! Tables hosted by The Book Parlor, BHS Key Club, Kids Club, Harney County Library, Harney District Hospital, Little Blessings Pre-School and Slater Elementary. Little League opening ceremonies will be held at 10 a.m. at the Little League fields on West Pierce.

The 4th annual Xi Delta Gamma Sorority prime rib and crab feed will be held Saturday, April 18, at the Burns Elks Lodge. Social hour begins at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6 p.m.

A “Spring Fling” fun and games trap shoot, sponsored by the Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club, will be held Saturday, April 18, at the trap range on Radar Hill. Practice starts at 9;30 a.m., with shooting events to follow. The special “Black Bird” prizes will be awarded if you break a black clay pigeon. All shooters welcome, and lunch will be available.

Waggin’ Tales is held the first and third Saturday of the month at Harney County Library from 1-3 p.m. Please call the library, 541-573-6670, for an appointment to read with a dog.
