Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

 
A Cycle Oregon Community Recap will be held in conjunction with the CRT meeting Wednesday, Oct. 2, at 5:30 p.m. at the Community Center on North Broadway. Join together for a public meeting about the experience with Cycle Oregon. All comments welcome.

 
The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Community Center, 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the county as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding existing programs and recruitment efforts.

 
High Desert Park and Recreation District board of directors meets the first Wednesday of each month in their office at Lincoln Junior High School, 550 N. Court, at 7 p.m.

 
Non-denominational Bible services are held at 7 p.m. each Wednesday at Hines City Hall, with ministers Rose Davidson and Cheryl Emborg officiating. (There will be no meeting Oct. 9).

 
Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. “D” St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

ALANON, a support group for friends and families of alcoholics, meets each Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. Please use the back door on the south side of the building. All interested are welcome.

Diabetes Support Group meets at the Harney County Health Building, 420 N. Fairview, the first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m.

 
Harney County Arts and Crafts Association meets the first Saturday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the basement conference room of the Harney County Courthouse. Use the rear building entrance. Artists of any age and artistic medium are welcome to attend. The first hour is art demonstration or workshop. Contact Kate Marsh at 541-573-7204 for more information.

 
Farmers Market from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Hines City Park. The market will be held each Saturday into October or until the first hard frost ends the growing season.

Harney County Life Chain committee invites the public to join them in a national event, celebrating their 13th year of standing up for life. On Respect Life Sunday, Oct. 6, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., meet at Ruthie’s on North Broadway. Life Chain is families and churches uniting to show support for unborn children and their parents. Take along a copy of your dog’s shot records, a parent or guardian to sign the paper work, and $19 to cover enrollment fees and accident insurance.
